What is a skylight or rooflight?
A skylight or rooflight is an opening in a flat roof that provides additional natural light. A skylight is often square and is usually made of acrylic or polycarbonate: two different types of plastic that are transparent and very strong. Polycarbonate is also stronger than acrylic and is therefore also called a bulletproof skylight. In a skylight, the acrylic or polycarbonate is always slightly curved. It is important that the material from which skylights are made is hard, impact-resistant, and scratch-resistant.
A rooflight has a wider range of shapes, sizes, and materials. A rooflight is also a series of multiple windows or panels next to each other, hence the name “rooflight”. A rooflight can be flat, curved, have an elongated pyramid shape, be rectangular or square. The possibilities with a rooflight are endless.

Cost for skylight or rooflight installation
A skylight is usually smaller than a rooflight, so a skylight is often more affordable than a rooflight. A rooflight, in turn, provides more light.
The costs for installing a skylight start at € 450,- excluding VAT. Because a skylight and rooflight are often assembled to order, it is difficult to give a guideline for this. We would be happy to come to your place to carry out a free roof inspection to see what the possibilities are on your flat roof. We will then issue a non-binding quotation so that you have a good idea of the possible costs.
Our procedure for installing a skylight or rooflight
Are you very satisfied with your home, but do you miss daylight? It is possible to install a rooflight in an extension, canopy, or flat roof.
When we install a rooflight, you can expect the following:
1. Roof inspection
During the roof inspection, we will inspect the current extension, canopy, or flat roof, or we will review the construction drawing of the planned extension or canopy. If you are in a new construction process, it is practical to combine the installation of a rooflight. We will measure the desired size and provide advice if desired.
2. Quotation
Based on your choices and the desired size, we can then create an offer. This offer is free and we will send it to you so you can review it at your leisure. If you have any questions or doubts, please contact us and we will adjust the offer if necessary.
3. Scheduling assignment
Once you have approved the quote, we will contact you to schedule an appointment to install the rooflight or skylight. If we are a subcontractor, we will coordinate directly with the general contractor. We will take into account all schedules and the time we need to complete your project.
4. Performing assignment
We are moving on to the execution phase. We work skillfully, quickly, and leave everything neat and tidy when the project is completed.
5. Evaluation
Once the project is completed, we will take some time for an evaluation. How did you experience the process? Are you satisfied? Are there any areas for improvement for us? We also always ask if you would like to share your experience in the form of a review, for our future customers.
